DUNLOP Drift Challenge Austria Saalfelden

In midd april we took part in the first anual race in the austrian Drift-Mastershift. Our Team was represented by Martin Jansa in the kathegorz of the race fourwheelers with the racing special car Mitschubishi EVO X and Jaroslav Novák in the group of serial rear wheeler with BMW M3 E46. During the trainings on friday we had to manage the setting of our racing special and as the track was very demanding and due to the high temperature swings it was realy dificult to find out the right mixture for the tires. Both times we suceeded with the right solution and so it was possible to prepare ourselves for the next day.

On Saturday during the course observation there was a not very pleasent supprise in form of ice, which covered the whole track, waiting for us. It was immediately clear, that the qualifieing will be very demanding, but more atractive for the watchers. And that was affirmed during the first qualifiing runs, in which a lot of expirienced racers sliped and also our team made some mistakes.Before the first race the weather got better and also the sun came out. And the ice desapeared. During the race Martin Jansa battled balanced fight with his competitors in his categhory. Jaroslav Novák didnt managed the bigest bend and warmed up the face of his front buffer and that costed precios seconds and points. In the second race Martin Jansa took a 100% performance and ensured with his ride a good start into a new season in form of a victory in his cathegory. Jaroslav Novák had to draw up a lot in the second race, as he had nothing to loose after his mistakes, he rode with the pedals on the bottom and achieved the full complement of points. His colleague Martin Jansa give a psychical boost to him. No one could anymore rob Martin Jansas victory in the fourwheeler cathegory.And after a strength fight Jaroslav Novak got 3th place in his cathegory and 5th place in the whole line. We are looking forward to the next race as the number or participants is still ricing and the race will be very thrilling. According last informations there were 65 entered participants in drift.
